Solomon Pools/ Artas Access Road and Inner Roads in Bethlehem

The project involves the upgrading of the current 3m one-lane access and extending from the intersection located on Highway 60 (Jerusalem –Hebron Road) to Solomon Pools and Artas and through Artas back to Bethlehem. The existing access road has no shoulders. It is suggested to upgrade this to a Two-lane (7.0m wide) facility with proper shoulders or sidewalks. In addition, it involves construction of parking facilities along the tourist's site at Solomon Pools and Artas. The total length of the road is (5.40 km) including existing road between Artas convent and the new dirt intersection of the traffic control devices (sings and markings). A construction of retaining walls, storm water structures and water network is also foreseen.
